Halloween

Abbie wasn't sure whether she was going to dress up for Halloween or not, but she ordered puffy shirt (think Seinfeld) online just to add to her wardrobe. When it arrived, she decided that it would make a great pirate shirt. She coupled it with a few items already on hand, and voila! A costume is born.

She helped me take Emily and her friend trick-or-treating in the neighborhood for awhile and the set off on her own to hit a few more houses. She ended up with a rather large bag of candy, so I guess it was a successful night.

As for pumpkin carving, she wasn't exactly sure what she wanted to do this year, but she was inspired by her chemistry teacher, who seems like a pretty good guy. They just recently celebrated mole day, which is October 23rd. For those of you who don't recall your high school chemistry, Avogadro's number is 6.02 x 10^23. Apparently it is still fresh in her brain because she decided to carve a little mole critter into her pumpkin and then label it with the number.

She wasn't too happy with how the mole turned out - potentially looking more like a loaf of bread than a mole - but at least it gives her something to show her chemistry teacher for a few brownie points. LOL.

As for other developments, Abbie has decided to take a break from violin for the time being. After almost 10 years, she has definitely learned a lot!  Fortunately for me, we have videos of some of her recent performances so I can enjoy her playing whenever I want. School-wise, Abbie continues to do very well, but she is also ready for a break. Thanksgiving can't come soon enough!
