So many updates!

It has been a busy first month of 2026. Abbie kicked off the new year in NYC, visiting her friend Miranda and seeing Alden.

Once she returned to school, it was time for the half-marathon. Greg and Elizabeth came for the weekend, as Elizabeth was running the marathon, too. Emily and I drove down to watch. It was a brutally cold morning, but the runners didn't seem to mind. Abbie did great (as did Elizabeth). Meanwhile, Emily, Greg, and I logged our own 6+ miles just walking from mile marker to mile marker to catch all the action.

At mile 7 of 13

We caught Abbie at Mile 7. I wasn't sure what to expect, but she was flying high. She had two packets of goo with her, which she handed to Alden as she ran by, saying, "You have to try these. They're awful!" LOL. She stuck with the 10:30 pace group and ended with an average pace of 10:15, finishing in 2:14:10.

Since then, she has been busy with classes and applying for summer internships. Hopefully, the internship thing will be decided soon, so she can stop thinking about it. I think classes are going well. There is a biochemistry exam next week that she is getting ready for, so that is taking some time, and a paper due in another class, so things are definitely ramping up, as they tend to do.
