A New Look for Summer

The last time Abbie had her hair cut was in November 2019. As you can imagine, it has gotten very long since then, extending all the way down to the small of her back. It is very thick so it becomes tangled easily and she is constantly fighting with it. Yesterday, she spontaneously announced that she wanted to cut the ends off. So, I grabbed a pair of scissors and started hacking. We took a whopping nine inches off the back and she feels much better as a result.

As you can imagine, it looks like a pretty unprofessional cut - clearly they make special hair scissors for a reason - but her thought is that it will grow out over the summer and then she can get a "real" haircut before heading back to school in the fall.

In the meantime, having shorter hair will be easier while at the cabin this summer. One more week and we will be exploring the lake and trying to avoid the black bears!
