School photo

It's that time of year - school photo time! Abbie's photo turned out pretty well this year. She isn't happy with it, but I like it. Abbie also had her annual check up last week. It is official - she is taller than I am. She measured in at 5 feet, 2.25 inches, which means that she grew almost 2 inches this past year. The doctor is still predicting that she will grow another 2-3 inches, so she will have me beat by a pretty hefty margin. :) Abbie also had a dentist appointment last week and her last baby tooth is loose, so it is getting to be time to start thinking about braces. Her teeth are in really good shape, so it won't be too much of an undertaking. We have a consult scheduled for Thanksgiving week, so we will know more then about all of the gory details.

School seems to be going well so far this year. The first quarter just ended, but report cards haven't been posted yet. Abbie's grades leading up the the end of the quarter were good, so I am sure that her report card will be just fine. Interestingly, there is a new girl in Abbie's grade this year whom she sees as someone that she can compete with in classes, so that has provided her with some additional motivation.

Other than school, Abbie has been intent upon making the most of the fall holiday season. She has been doing lots of baking - for a while there was a new pumpkin pie every weekend - and listening to Halloween music. She is also working on her Halloween costume. She is going to be Castiel from Supernatural again this year, but I don't think that there are any plans for fully articulating bird wings. Rather, she is going for a Leviathan Castiel look, which seems to involve more face make-up. She was busy practicing with her liquid latex last night and I think that she has a look that she is happy with. I'll be sure to post photos when the time comes!
