Hop Hop, Ham, and Huddles

Below is Abbie in the Hello Kitty robe she got a few weeks ago. As they were paying for it at the store, Tess was showing Abbie a stuffed animal and having her name its parts - eyes, ears, etc. To Tess' surprise, Abbie then flipped the animal over, pointed, and said, "butt!". Both Tess and the clerk were pretty surprised to find that Abbie can name and identify butts. We're so proud. :)

Here are two pictures of Abbie riding in those little cars at the mall - the ones that you put 75 cents into for what seems like a 10 second ride. The guy who invented those was a genius. Anyway, Abbie has needed to go to the mall a lot in the last few weeks to see the Easter Bunny (aka Hop Hop). She likes to make regular visits and yesterday I thought it would be important for her to go say goodbye since he won't be there anymore, so we did. Then this morning we were talking about Hop Hop and how he had gone home. First Abbie assumed that he must have gone back to the zoo, but I told her that he didn't live at the zoo. Then she informed me that he went home to Minnesota (pronounced "sota"). I just burst out laughing. I had no idea that the Easter Bunny was from Minnesota.

Abbie has been playing with her friend Sam a lot lately, and she has also been eating ham a lot lately. Unfortunately, both are pronounced "Ham." The conversation usually goes something like this:

Abbie - "Ham!"

Us - "Sam or Ham?"

Abbie - "Ham!"

Us - "You thinking about Sam?"

Abbie - blank stare.

Us - "You want to eat ham?"

Abbie - "No"

Us - "You thinking about Sam?"

Abbie - "Ham!"

Round and round it goes. As you can tell, its a very productive conversation.

Abbie has also been very big on splashing in puddles now that the snow is melting. Often, she'll declare that she wants to go outside to look for "huddles." All the snow was just about gone last week. Then we got 5 more inches. When we opened Abbie's blinds in the morning and she saw that it was snowing she knew immediately that this was going to affect her ability to play outside. She yelled out, "Oh no! Stop!" I thought it was pretty funny. I think it summed up everybody's sentiments pretty well.
