Halloween

Abbie decided to be a princess for Halloween this year. For trick-or-treating, we took her to one of the neighborhood streets that is closed off every year and she had a blast, running up and down, finding the houses with the best candy, bumping into kids that she knows from school, stuffing herself on cotton candy and corn dogs. You can see the energy shift that occurred in the before and after pictures below.

Before
Yes, she is totally fighting the fact that the sun is in her eyes, but she seems reasonably calm (although there was already a good bit of sugar on board from her class Halloween party at school).

After
This is the hopped-up post-trick-or-treating Abbie. Notice said corn dog sticking out through the giant hole where her front tooth used to be. I am just so glad it waited until after school photos had been taken to finally fall out!

Ultimately I did get her to calm down enough to get one "normal" post-candy photo, which actually turned out pretty well.
All in all, I think that she had a great night. Of course, she's already starting to think about what she wants for a costume next year. Apparently, she's over the whole princess thing and leaning towards a vampire costume. Fortunately we've got lots of time for her to change her mind!
