Ballet Recital
At last, I have finally managed to post the video that we took at Abbie's ballet recital last month. I was waiting because I also wanted to post some really beautiful pictures that the ballet teacher took, but it is going to be awhile before she can get them to me, so those will have to get posted later. Emily was pretty excited about the whole thing. You can hear her in the background saying, "Boo, Abbie!" This is what she says when she is trying to surprise or scare Abbie. Not quite sure why she was saying it during the recital, but it is kind of funny!
Abbie has been out of school for over a week now and I think really enjoyed the time at home. She did lots of swimming. So much so that she has worn the skin off the bottom of her big toe from being in the water so much. Her new thing, now that the community pool is open, is jumping off the diving board. She wants to learn how to dive, and I have tried to show her, but so far it is just ending up as a jump with her arms over her head in a diving position.
Her summer program starts today, and hopefully she will enjoy it. The activities change each week. This week she has a session on "secret formulas" which is some basic chemistry type stuff. Then she has a session on the "magic" of math. Finally, in the afternoons, she has a session in which the kids create a musical play that they then perform at the end of the week. Hopefully this will all strike the right balance between fun and educational.

I'll watch the video later (at work now), but that's great that she's so into swimming. Good you have her in a summer program. I can't imagine her just hanging out all summer!
