Halloween, Conferences, Updated Statistics and More

Abigail dressed as a ghost bride for Halloween this year. It was meant to be a sort of glamour/gore look so the costume was the glamour part and the makeup was more the gore part complete with some liquid latex to add some creepy effects.
Of course, the night was a success and we still have the candy to prove it. Above, Abbie decided on a Harry Potter themed pumpkin this year, so she carved his glasses and the lightening bolt scar on his forehead.

A couple of weeks ago, we had the fall parent-teacher conference with Abbie's teachers. As for Abbie's areas of strength, they noted that her work is consistently neat and organized. She is a strong voice in the classroom, and is helpful to her peers and teachers. She is strong in all academic areas, demonstrates a desire to learn, and seems to enjoy challenging work. As for her areas for growth, she needs to focus more on her work (rather than helping peers) and on keeping her work area organized. She also needs to develop listening skills and diplomacy when working in groups. Finally, she needs to check her work for errors before turning it in, and to develop the ability to avoid distraction. All in all, it was a good conference.

We had Abbie's 10-year old well-child check this week (yes, WAY past her birthday). Perhaps not shockingly, she is healthy. Her current "stats" reveal that she is now 54.6 inches tall (43rd percentile) and 74.6 pounds (47th percentile). Her blood pressure, hearing and vision are all perfect.

Finally, we received a copy of Abigail's school photo this week (see below). She had me braid her hair the night before to give it that wavy look.
Personally, I think it gives her sort of an '80's look. I would have preferred more of a smile, like in the Halloween photo above, but this will suffice. :)
