End-of-Semester
Abbie had an okay Thanksgiving this year, I think. Her friend, Eleanor, stayed with us for most of the week, so that kept her occupied. The girls made a pumpkin pie for the holiday and also made dinner for us one night - tacos and a chocolate-raspberry dessert - all of which was very good! Abbie also got lucky with a last minute cat-care job for a neighbor, which paid $5 per day, so she was excited about that.

With Thanksgiving behind us, we are now gearing up for all of the end-of-semester events. Abbie has both her winter orchestra concert and her ballet performance of the Nutcracker this coming weekend, so this week is packed with extra rehearsals, etc. The teachers are also starting to pile on tests and quizzes, so life will surely be busy for the next couple of weeks.
As for the next holiday on the horizon, we have already decorated and started making cookies. Abbie had a cookie party that she went to last weekend, so we made Chai spice cookies for her to bring. It turned out to be a rather large event, so we came home with a huge container of cookies that I took straight to the office because I knew that we would never eat them all. Abbie is already thinking of the gifts that she might like to buy for the family this year and also the gifts that she might like to receive. :)
Overall, though, I am sure that she is looking forward to the break. Middle school is, well, middle school, so it definitely takes a lot of energy to navigate through each day. Also, she and Eleanor are already planning another sleepover for the days after New Years, so I am sure that she will be excited about that!
