Summer Camps

Summer is upon us and once again we have cobbled together a variety of summer camps to keep Abbie busy. She has already done two weeks of tennis and swimming. Now, this week she has been at a full time soccer camp. This is our first year with this camp and she has really enjoyed it. It is very well organized and they seem to have struck the right balance of fun and work, along with a good mixture of outside and inside time.
With today being the last day, they have broken the kids into teams to play in a mini World Cup. Abbie is on the Romanian team and all the kids were assigned jobs in preparation for the big event. Abbie's job was to make the team's poster. We got this assignment last night, so we quickly pulled together the poster above. It turned out really great and she was getting lots of complements on it when Chad dropped her off this morning. I'm curious to pick her up this afternoon and see how the actual games went for Romania.

Next week, she is off to Zoo Camp, and then she will be at a sleep-away camp for a week. Later this summer, she will spend four weeks doing a Science Camp on campus. Then, it will be about time for us to head out on a little family vacation. Our plan this summer is to drive to Minnesota, and then over to Chicago, and then home. Yes, this may be both our first and last driving vacation. We'll see how it goes.
