Holidays
We had a great, albeit busy, holiday season. Above is Abbie with her presents from Santa. Of course, she still loves being fancy and getting dressed up, so she is also showing off this year's Christmas dress. Abbie was excellent this year in terms of having a great attitude, being excited about her gifts, and thinking about the gifts that she gave to others. Far better than last year when there was lots of complaining. So, either (1) this actually was a better Christmas than last year, (2) she has matured a little bit, or (3) she is getting better at knowing how to say the "right" things despite what she may be thinking.
As I mentioned in a previous post, a gift from Mom and Dad this year was her own chefs coat. Here she is in said coat, and you can almost see where the embroidery says, "Abbie, Sous Chef." It is great coat and she seems to like it. Also, it is big enough that we need to roll up the sleeves, so hopefully it will fit her for awhile. She seems to be growing like crazy these days.
Abbie also seems very happy to be back at school. Her attitude was great last week and she was a real pleasure to be with this past weekend, as well. The Spring session of her ballet class starts this week and her friend Eleanor (seen in the photo below (along with Eleanor's brother)) is going to be in class with her. Hopefully they can manage to have fun without getting all silly.
This photo is from a couple weeks ago when Eleanor's parents took the girls to the zoo. We haven't been to the zoo here yet, but it is nationally recognized and is supposed to be very good. Abbie seemed to have fun. Of course, you can tell from her outfit that we have had some really great weather lately. On New Year's Eve we were actually in the pool in the afternoon. Of course, kicking the water temperature up to 93 degrees didn't hurt! :)
