Somewhere over the Rainbow . . . .

Happy Halloween! This year, Abbie decided to dress as Dorthy from the Wizard of Oz. She has gotten tons of use out of her costume. On both Saturday and Sunday, she got to wear it to Halloween parties. Today, she got to wear it to school, and obviously, tonight she'll wear it for Trick-or-Treating.

Of course, the thought of Abbie actually eating all the candy that she acquires is just frightening. One possible solution that I am considering is to offer to buy her candy from her - a penny a piece, perhaps. Then I can throw it all away, or donate it to people at work without having to sneak it out from under her. Yes, its true, I am no fun at all, but really, who needs all the sugar? :)

Fluffy Follow-up

Just to follow up on my previous post, we had Fluffy, the guinea pig, at our house all weekend and we all survived, including Fluffy.

I am not very familiar with what to expect from a guinea pig, and he seemed like a very nervous sort of a fellow. I started to get concerned that if we picked him up too much, he would keel over from a heart attack. Anyway, it all ended well. Abbie enjoyed having him in her room and feeding him carrots. Emily was also excited about seeing him everyday and being able to touch him. He will be with us again for a weekend in the spring. Next on deck, though, we are slated to bring home Jack and Jill, the class birds, for two weeks at Christmas. This also sounds like it will be an adventure. I will keep you posted.
