Well Child Check-up

A medical update - Abbie had her well child visit yesterday. Here are the highlights. She is up to 18 pounds, 2 ounces (21st percentile), 28 and a half inches in length (60th percentile), and 18 inch head circumference (83rd percentile). She was more helpful than ever - trying to steal the doctor's stethoscope; helping the nurse with both taking her temperature and measuring her head. She has "helped" with these things in the past, but this visit was different. Her coordination is much better and she is much faster and stronger. I'm sure the doctor and nurse were happy to have such an enthusiastic and capable assistant. :)

Another Graduation

Here we are at my graduation. What a difference from the pictures we took a year ago!

Hanging out with Mommy

These aren't very close up but they are some of the few shots we have of Abbie hanging out with Mommy. They were taken by Grandpa earlier today as we enjoyed some time in the sun. Our little peanut continues to commune with nature in her own special way. She still hates to stand in the grass, but will gladly try to eat dandelions, leaves, or anything else that the breeze brings within reach. Go figure.

Hanging out with Dada

Abbie's vocabulary seems to be expanding in it's own way. Pretty much anything she sees (including Daddy) is called "Dada". However, she is also attempting to acquire other words. When we say "all done" she'll often immediately say "ah da." When we say "hot" she'll say "ha." I think she is also working on saying "car" but right now it pretty much just sounds like "aa."

She doesn't really seem to be trying to use her signs, but yesterday she did start clapping for the first time. It was pretty funny. She was banging her hands together, but it wasn't making any sound. I didn't even know that was possible. :)
